SOUND THE BELLS
The United States Army Field Band tours nationally and internationally as a means to share the Army story with music. Due to the 2020 pandemic, the U.S. Army Field Band ''Sound the Bells'' live holiday concert pivoted into a Televised broadcast special. We Are The Mighty and our sister company, Gig Line Media were awarded a contract on a highly compressed timeline of less than 30 days to script, film, edit and deliver a broadcast-quality half-hour special. The specific requirements included: a narrative script to celebrate military service, video production utilizing COVID protocols with active duty musicians, original animation, a Hollywood A-list host, and national distribution — we met every requirement.

A MIGHTY APPROACH
"Sound the Bells" features actor Joe Mantegna hosting seven holiday song performances by the Army Field Band, including a special, animated take on the "Nutcracker," a word from Army leadership as well as an interview with a WW2 veteran of the Battle of the Bulge.
Filming of Field Band Performances
Our director, Robert Ham, an Emmy award winning director/Army veteran, filmed the field band musicians in DC under a condensed production schedule while, ensuring the strictest of COVID protocols — multiple tests after arriving at each location, maintaining social distancing throughout the filming process, and sanitization of rooms and equipment.
From DC to an LA Holiday Abode
We meticulously shot our hosting segments with the incredibly talented Joe Mantegna from a festive Los Angeles home - bringing together the segments into a seamless narrative filled with holiday cheer.
